Coffee and a yarn

What a great turn-out at the Crafty Coasters daytime meet-up today.  There were lots of familiar faces and we also welcomed some new members. 

There was crochet, knitting, coffee, croissants and lots of chat.  A big thank you to Commune who let us take up a corner of their cafe for the morning.

The next meet-up is Thursday 11th August from 6:30pm.

Crafty Coasters Daytime Meet-Up

Join us at Commune, 1844 Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach from 10am Wednesday 27th July.  Commune is on the lower part of the highway just north of Burleigh State School.

Bring along a hand craft or just come along for coffee and a chat.  Children are welcome.

Rainbow

What a great turnout at Crafty Coasters this evening!  We ate rainbow cake and choc-chip biscuits and crocheted, knitted, stitched and cut out.  We flipped through vintage craft books and talked about travel and kids and coffee shops and fabric.

July Meet-Up

 

The next Crafty Coasters Meet-Up is Thursday 14th July.  We will be meeting from 6:30pm at the Girl Guide Hut, 4 Margaret St Southport.

Join us for craft, cake and chat. Bring along a project you are working on at the moment or just come along to help others with their projects. We welcome new members and their friends, whatever their skill level.

Warm drinks, yummy things to eat and heating are provided.  A contribution towards the cost of venue hire would be greatly appreciated.

We had a wonderful day at Wednesday's June Daytime Meet-Up.  We started with coffee at the wonderfully eclectic Madam Tojo and then had a go at screenprinting under the capable tuition of fellow Crafty Coaster, Larissa.  This was a popular class and we hope to entice Larissa to share her skills with the group again.

The next meet-up is the evening of Thursday 14th July.  Hope to see you there! 

Crafty Coasters Daytime Meet-Up & Screenprinting Class

We're meeting on Wednesday 22nd June from 10am at Madam Tojo Cafe 23 Musgrave Ave, Chirn Park.  Join us for coffee, cake and a chat.  Kids are welcome.

There is also the opportunity to join in a screenprinting class (grown-ups only) at a nearby address.  The class will be run by fellow Crafty Coaster, Larissa, and places are limited so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible if you're interested in participating.

Cosy

On an unseasonally cold Gold Coast evening we kept warm with tea, quiche and chat.

Miss L kindly brought in glaze and ceramic pieces for us to play with.  It was wonderful to work with a completely new medium.  They'll be fired in time for next month's meet-up and I can't wait to see how they turn out.

There are some exciting plans in the pipeline for the next daytime meet-up.  Watch this space for details.
